چکیده
: While traditionally performed through an open approach, the role of minimally invasive technologies has evolved in its application to esophageal resection. Esophagectomy is associated with significant morbidity, which led interest developing esophagectomy (e.g. , laparoscopic/thoracoscopic approaches) address this issue. As a result, approaches for resection evolved, growing body literature describing these techniques. Minimally have been applied transhiatal esophagectomy, both laparoscopic and robotic-assisted Although are well-described malignancies, efficacy not as well established. Since initial reports application, adoption technology continued expand. robotic techniques expanded across approaches, more defined (MI-THE) developed. Our group sought adapt approach malignant end-stage benign disease. With MI-THE experience, operative technique further refined. This report describes best practices cervical esophagogastric anastomosis, including preoperative preparation, technique, postoperative care, perioperative outcomes.

In the second stage, the patient is placed in a supine position for laparoscopic construction of the gastric conduit, placement of a feeding jejunostomy, and pyloroplasty. The third stage consists of mobilization of the cervical esophagus via the left neck, removal of the surgical specimen and gastric pull-up, and construction of an esophagogastric anastomosis. This phase of the operation is pe...
متن کاملOutcomes After Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy :
Background—Esophagectomy is a complex operation and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. In an attempt to lower morbidity, we have adopted a minimally invasive approach to esophagectomy. Objectives—Our primary objective was to evaluate the outcomes of minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE) in a large group of patients. Our secondary objective was to compare the modified McKeo...
متن کاملMinimally Invasive Approach to Esophagectomy
BACKGROUND Recent advances in laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery have made it possible to perform esophagectomy using minimally invasive techniques. The aim of this report was to present our preliminary experience with minimally invasive esophagectomy. METHODS We reviewed our experience on eight patients who underwent minimally invasive esophagectomy using either laparoscopic and/or thora...
متن کاملMinimally Invasive Esophagectomy in the Elderly
OBJECTIVES In recent years, older patients are being referred for esophagectomy, and the associated morbidity and mortality is not well defined. Advances in minimally invasive techniques now allow minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE) to be performed that may minimize the morbidity of this procedure. The objective of this report was to summarize our experience with MIE in the elderly. METHOD...
متن کاملComparison the Outcomes of Open Thoracotomy and Minimally Invasive Thoracoscopic Esophagectomy in Esophageal Cancer
Introduction: Surgery is the first therapeutic option for esophageal cancer. There is controversy over the selection of the best surgical approach. Regarding this, the present study aimed to compare the minimally invasive and open esophagectomy in terms of their short-term outcomes and preoperative complications. Materials & Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 61 patients i...
